Approximate translation of the review
AMARANTHYS
is one of many formations, influenced by
NIGHTWISH, LEAVES’ EYES, EPICA
and company officiate in choosing a metal female vocals. A singer is good, but why not both? Finally, here is
Lérina
to
Sàya
sides to ensure choirs ahead a bit more than usual in the register of metal. The proposed
music by
AMARANTHYS
in the first
EP
Artificial Cages
is not very original. Listening, I think immediately to the groups mentioned above? The structures of the tracks, pushed the head voice, the webs of keyboards and guitar solos seem straight out of
Angels Fall First
or
Oceanborn
of
NIGHTWISH
... Some good rhythms evoke for them a harder edge
heavy speed
to
SONATA ARCTICA
in the
Rara Avis
or
The Legacy
shares, for example. In short, the songs of
AMARANTHYS
does not yet have an identity that would end any comparison and impose a more candid style.
For although the group's originality lies in this duet of female voices, it is often difficult to discern the good from each other, both Stamps s'avoisinent developed to blend into the other and not bring the desired little more: the richness and originality voice desired by our ears. Thus the two voices sing together, go along, but do not give to one another and do nothing more to the compositions. Also underline the fact that many approximations in the accuracy of the vocals do nothing to assess the potential of these two voices which I doubt, however.
instrumental side, despite some good intentions and convincing risk-taking, as some notes on bagpipes
Prisoner Of The Longest Day
(in chorus and beautiful guitar
solo
), a touch over
folk
over
Calling The Night
which deserves further exploration, or generally energetic rhythmic and catchy, and the symphonic side is not quite convincing and seems directly out of synth sounds sometimes questionable. Similarly, some
solos
of guitar also play hide and seek with the wrong notes (
Calling The Night, Spirit In A Cage
), and
pop
metal side of the track leaves the listener
Spirit In A Cage
dubiously well!
To conclude, I would say that
AMARANTHYS
would gain much more work so that some good elements on
Artificial Cages
can really convince the listener. There is a potential, but there is still no technique, whether among musicians, singers, or the person who made this mix of
EP
. It remains to
AMARANTHYS
to move forward and find his own way ...

Bon me revoilà !!!
