Approximate translation of the review
DREAM THEATER, SYMPHONY X, ADAGIO and other progressive groups influences such as KAMELOT orEVERGREYhave inspired many young and talented group willing to engage in turn in the crazy adventure of a progressive album. This is the
to STOLEN MEMORIEScases, training of Lyon, revealing his first album recorded in totalauto production.

Without being devilishly originalThe Strange Orderhave the deserves to be terribly effective. The techniques are rhythmic, powerful and dynamic, and keyboards show a wealth of sounds make listening very enjoyable. Indeed, the traditional layers of strings are obviously present ( Days Of Despair, Order of Sin ), electro sounds typically progressive, with powerful desire, onFaces Of Madness, The Gift, Order of Sinshares, but we also entitled to great piano arpeggios behind the chorus of Faces Of Madness, Under The Rain , a somewhat in the manner of ADAGIOperiodUnderworld...

The technique appears to be the watchword at STOLEN MEMORIES. For beyond the keyboard arpeggios conducted masterfully by Alexis ARMION , the whole bass / drums entrusted respectively Mathieu BLANCHETand Antoine BRUN , changing time signatures in all more sensitive to each other, in which the guitar nBaptiste BRUNis entitled to any breaks. Whether during the rhythm parts or solo, this young man reveals his talent for a perfectly convincing.

Only regret over this constant wish of performance and virtuosity: the technical research in STOLEN MEMORIES seems to have completely overtaken the melody research. Indeed, most of the solito Baptiste BRUN, although extremely difficult, not always very pleasant to the ear, because poor melodically speaking. The group could thus attempt to reconcile art and melody in his solos next compositions.

Finally, how can we speak of Najib MAFTAH , the frontman? Even if he does not incredible feats level height, its timbre is very nice and he treats us to a song just perfect and 100% controlled from beginning to end the album, so many choruses are firmly rooted in the memory of the listener. This is without taking risks that I see Najib MAFTAHas a key strength of STOLEN MEMORIES music and a singerMetal progpromising.

You will therefore understand, with The Strange Order , STOLEN MEMORIES I was impressed. It does not really miss much so that this group becomes the revelation of theprogFrench scene, and with haste that I will watch the output of the second album!

Melody: 3 / 5
Technical: 5 / 5
Originality: 3 / 5
