When "gothic" rhymes with "oriental"
Approximate translation of the review
Young Tunisian group, SARACENS just released its first demo, Hegemonic Plots, in a most singular style of operating in environments Death Metal symphonic sounding oriental Gothic wish. Play SARACENS gives multiple views of expanses of desert, arid also as devoid of hope, and occasionally, a small oasis, a slight breeze bringing warm this hope seemed lost.

SARACENS training is at least unusual. No vocals lead, just grunt this time and two singers, Nour and Wafa, for female chorus lines (just as did THERION over Deggial albums and Theli for example), a violin with Iheb, Melek to battery, and Yassine, the handyman of SARACENS : the creator of the group, it is also the composer, guitarist, singer (providing the parties to grunts), and timer orchestrations.

No doubt the atmosphere created by the powerful orchestrations Yassine, cleverly supported by the violin ofIheb, make an absolutely spellbinding effect. The title of oriental percussion and flutes Kneeling Head of these Allowed Blackmail are coming in they underline once again the full scope of Oriental music, which has SARACENS undeniably his own style.

to SARACENS defects? Production. Indeed, recording songs (choruses and grunts) certainly tarnishes the service of vocalists. The grunts are not hitting and barely audible at times, and the chorus girls are like muffled, almost as if you had your head under water. Unable to understand the texts without the words under the eyes, and terribly frustrating when a song is absolutely right we proposed. SARACENS could thus take more time on recording his vocal parts in the future, so that the listener can make the most of voice training, and finish listening to a 100% positive sense, for in this time, and very unfortunately, I have a terrible feeling to stay on my hunger!

Hegemonic Plots is a very encouraging first attempt to SARACENS, a group that already has a strong musical identity, and which, if reviewed its methods of recording (mainly singing), should surprise a few and go away .
