First metal ray!
Approximate translation of the review
Discovered at the time of a concert from LONEWOLF to Grenoble in company in particular of HURLEMENT, SHINRAY had really impressed me for this first meeting.
One Heavy Metal melody, powerful, precise and full with feeling. A solid low/battery, a guitarist of an excellent level and compositions very accrocheuses was for me the strong points of this Grenoblois group.
the singer ensured in a “normal” register all while dealing sometimes with the keyboards, which on scene has surprised good number of spectators…

Nearly one year after I receive official first démo of SHINRAY, and I was as impatient as curious to discover the contents…!

First report, the group proposes a production of a very good level which puts of coming into value the quality of the musicians; second report, the compositions suggested are really very good.

Earthquake which begins this MCD are the showpiece for me, this title summarizes perfectly the style of the group, namely of Heavy Métal melody which alternates the tempos and environments.
D'ailleurs all the titles are in this register… One passes from influences IRON MAIDEN to SAVATAGE (the passages piano, keyboards are integrated very well into the compositions), a kind of Heavy Metal slightly progressive, but always with a personality specific to SHINRAY.

The Butcher’s Killing Machine will be the title resolutely more Hard Rock, to see Rock heavy, very slow, all in environments, with rhythmic sharp which ensures the chopped and jerked tempo (with a sound almost GRAVE DIGGER). A less obvious title with the first listening, but which should quickly convince you. I find that it misses one I do not know what to make even more relevant this title; a more memorable refrain, a lead melody guitar for example…

to summarize SHINRAY of Them is not strictly speaking a group of Heavy Metal 80’s, I will say that it borrows influences from the 80 ' S, the 90 ' S and a little from the years 2000, the instrumental parts are really perfectly interpreted and show a level very interesting for the continuation. Moreover the group asserts the fact of having multiple influences and of not seeking to remain comparable with a single category of Metal.

With regard to the song I arrive at the same conclusion as in concert; it is not bad, but a little gross sometimes, with a lack of amplitude which in my opinion penalizes a little the high level of the compositions. It would not be necessary not better than Benjamin is devoted to 100% with the keyboards…?

In all the cases I invite you to quickly discovering this promising group, making you your own opinion and to get their demonstration to you!
