Show Me How To Live is the 11th album studio (12th if we regard The Watcher(2002) as such, album live compilation of titles - news version) of the Danish groupROYAL HUNT, created in 1989 by André ANDERSEN . Since soon 20 years and its first albumLand Of Broken Hearts(1992), this brilliant composer-songwriter clavierist (but also guitarist on the first album) carries out his royal hunting on the grounds d' one Hard Progressif melody and symphonic. During this double decade, followed one another, at the side of the Master of the places, various singers and musicians:Henrik BROCKMANN (Land Of Broken Hearts (1992), Clown In the Mirror (1994)),D.C. COOPER( Moving Target (1995), Paradox (1997)) like on the 2 live 1996 and Paradox Closing The Chapters (1998),John WEST( Fear (1999), The Mission (2001), The Watcher(2002), Eyewitness (2003), Paper Blood (2005) like on double live in Japanin 1999 and the live one of 2006 ,Mark BOALS ( Collision Course - Paradox II(2008) and X (2010)). As for the musicians…: Steen MORGENSEN, Per SCHELANDER for the low one, Jacob KJAER ,Marcus JIDELLfor the guitars, Kenneth OLSEN , Allan SORENSEN for the battery… Names of singers and d' known artists, since all belonged or belong to formations distinguished in the medium from the Métal /Hard Rockin general. In short, here is a somewhat brief genesis of the group certainly, but 20 years d' musical history is not summarized in some lines!
This new album thus sees the return ofD.C. COOPERto the song (voted by plebiscite return seems-t' it by the horde of fans of the group!), for our greater pleasure! Not that Henrik BROCKMANN ,John WEST(often compared with Glenn HUGHES ) and Mark BOALS have demerit, quite to the contrary, but it is necessary to acknowledge that this fabulous vocalist illuminated of his song Moving Targetand the superb concept album Paradox , irradiating an enthusiasm and a certain sensitivity throughout these compositions. Its scenic services on 2 albumslivebeing same quality. a d' dozen; years were passed and this report remains identical. D.C.n' lost anything of its vocal charisma and its lines of song are simply excellent, climbing as one needs it in the heights, letting explode an energy and a carnal power. Crowned by female choruses, constant which we find on almost the whole of the albums ofROYAL HUNT, l' together an intensity very particular gives to the 7 d' compositions; André ANDERSEN . This one found l' creative inspiration and l' ambition of the first decade, so much has been blunted little for a few years (this reflexion n' engage that my convictions!). Let us be clear: ROYAL HUNTcheek, reproduced of the ROYAL HUNT, without really s' to move away from its commonplaces, but this renewal d' creative energy brings a fresh and saving breath. The keyboards (with the sounds of harpsichords, of piano) are as with l' accustomed omnipresent (though slightly in withdrawal on Another Man Down), packing melodies harshly well troussées. The guitars of Jonas LARSEN , newcomer, are corrosive, his interventions in solo bring an electric roughness almostMétal(Hard Rain's Coming, Half Past Loneliness), being played sometimes of the keyboards (An Empty Shell). Low the d'Andreas PASSMARK, whirring with wish and the battery d'Allan SORENSEN, impetuous, finish supplementing these 7 dynamic compositions from 4 to 10 minutes, some faster than d' others ( One More Days, An Empty Shell,Angel's Gone ). The refrains are superb, pointing out l' sometimes; melody universe of the Hardware FM (Rain' Hardware; S Coming, selected like individual!). The long title (10 minutes 27) Show Me How To Live leaves the place in its center with a long splendid instrumental beach, absolutely irresistible, letting burst all the harmonious and symphonic force of this album. Many sound effects s' be with the liking of the titles. A tone in lower part, somewhat more puffing,Angel's Gonecloses this album a little court with my taste. L' artworkis again bichonné, care taken sincePaper Blood. Just like the production which is excellent, as with its practice.
Same ifShow Me How To Livedoes not revolutionize the immediately identifiable music of ROYAL HUNT and its uncontested mentor André ANDERSEN, this new album n' in remainder not less l' one of its best performances to date, where the fans will undoubtedly find a light enivrant perfume of Moving Target, even more discrete ofParadox .
