Approximate translation of the review

Alan REED was during 25 years the voice of PALLAS. He recently opened for MAGENTA and ARENA gigs.

To make us wait until the release of his first solo album First in a field of one, he recorded five semi-acoustic tracks from PALLAS, ABEL GANZ as well as two unreleased solo.

Sanctuary is the first track (originally on The Wedge from PALLAS) it's atmospheric and magic. Alan's unique voice accompanies a crystalline music in which changes of rhythm and melody bring us into the progressive world.

Second track is Who's to blame (original version on The Cross And The Crucible from PALLAS). I find this version better than the original. It is played and sung with lots of emotion.

Kean on the job is the third track (original version on Gratuitous Flash from ABEL GANZ). ABEL GANZ is a Scottish progressive band in which Alan was before joining PALLAS. A simple melody without flourish.

Fourth track is new : Teardrops in the rain. It's a song that will be on the solo album. The voice is by turns emotional and powerful. If you want to hear a closer version of the album, watch "The Fifth Report Studio: Axis Mania" on Youtube (see link).

Finally, the last track is Begin Again which is a marvel. A great song with Celtic rhythm and smelling Scotland. With Scott HIGHAM of PENDRAGON on percussions !

Alan REED is very busy right now, he's finishing the mixing of his debut solo album to be released in 2012. I'm looking forward to have it !
