Approximate translation of the review
When HANNIBAL see the light of day, in 2003, his singer Alex « Hannibal » BALAKAKIS already disposes of a reputation for the less enviable one in the environment Metal Greeks. Within SPITFIRE, it thus foamed the scenes alongside several sacred monsters, notably IRON MAIDEN (1996), SCORPIONS (2009) or again SAXON (2011)! It is therefore in parallel of his first group thatHannibal takes this project, of which the beginnings materialize themselves in 2006 by the well welcomed fort This Is U. Echozone recently published his successor, Cyberia.

Preceded one of a long expectation, had in particular to the loaded calendar of his frontman, this new album could give rise to big hopes. The patience of the fans will not have been vain: Cyberia meets of the fearsome compositions of an effectiveness. HANNIBAL evolves majority in a register Power Metal, behaving of the cutting guitars (the introductory Burn Me Alive). On certain titles, the instrumentation is done lighter, which allows the song ofHannibal to express itself fully. Such is the case of Angelryche, that pulls an interesting party of the keyboards, or again of Where Do We Go, devoted to metaphysical interrogations (" Where do we go after life ? ").

The group knows nevertheless to drink to other sources, as some testifies Somebody Wake Me. This title, one of the more beautiful successes of Cyberia, distinguishes itself by riffs close ones of the Grunge, in particular at the time of an intro of which certain tones evoke also, in a least measure, the Metal industrial one. One can besides to keep eastern smells ofInsane, as well as the instrumental poignant Cyberia (The Fall) that clôt the album.

at last, it suits to underline the quality of the vocal palette offered by HANNIBAL. The benefit of the singer perfectly suits the register of the group. On Sacred Alphabet notably, she appears impressive. The choirs, assured by Herc, deserve also a special mention: major titles, of which Burn Me Alive, benefit from his voice éraillée. The musical others are not in remainder, start with the guitarists soloists Steve SOVO - member of the group - and Dimmu - intervening on the album - plan authors revealing a real virtuosity (Into The Water). The Greek formation, based aujourd’hui to Londres, book therefore the remarkable production that the pedigree of Hannibal, with SPITFIRE, left to imagine.

line-up:

Hannibal : song / rhythmic guitar
Steve SOVO : guitar lead
Herc : keyboards / choirs
Hulk : low
Doctor : battery
