Sabaton still marching one!!!
Approximate translation of the review
SABATON
is a founded group in 1999 native one of Sweden of which the principal characteristics are to do constant references to the war, so in the held scene (military pants) that the words of their songs. After 12 years of stability, the group underwent an immense change of line-up, since only the singer
Joakim BRODÉN
and the bass player
Pär SUNDSTRÖM
exist original group.
THE album
Carolus Rex
is therefore a transition album that I rejoiced at to discover and, my faith, it passes enough well the ramp. Produce by
Peter TÄGTGREN
(member notably of
HYPOCRISY
and of
PAIN
that among many other produced
DIMMU BORGIR
,
IMMORTAL
,
THERION
or
DARK FUNERAL
) this conceptual album completely is devoted to the Swedish Empire of the 16th one and 17th centuries.
One there rediscovers the special phrasé of
Joakim BRODEN
and his manner inimitable to roll the "r", the all on titles Heavy mélodiques rather epic well composed.
THE album essentially is based on riffs Heavy Speed and present choirs, sometimes brightened feminine voices (
The Lion From The North
), a title at once martial and almost symphonic as
Gott Mit Uns
fact sometimes to think
GRAVE DIGGER
, in the quality of the refrains that remain enough easily in head, as on the titles
Carolus Rex
or
Poltava
.
SABATON
mastery perfectly the Speed mélodique with titles as
A Lifetime Of War
, but also the MORE MARTIAL riffs, warriors and hitting to the incisive guitars, as in
1648
, in the binary Heavy to the excellent line of low
The Carolean's Player
or again
Long Live The King
. The group does not disdain not more the stampedes of guitars to the
IRON MAIDEN
(
Killing Ground
) and we favor even of a title in Swedish with the conclusif
Ruina Imperii
.
THE limited edition 2 CD concludes itself by a return rather personal and interesting of the
Twilight of The Thunder God
of
AMON AMARTH
, while the second CD resumes the entirety of the album in a version in Swedish: original!!!
in summary, my opinion is positive, even if, on the length, the album lacks maybe a little originality and remains rather linear, notably in the joint of the titles.
