Dare morre!
Approximate translation of the review
Ecrire the chronicle of a "heart blow" musical always is easy thing.
on the other hand when the group is unclassifiable, that transforms itself quickly in a certain challenge.
MORRE is a young Canadian formation (2008 Toronto) that to contrario practices a music rock very mâture!
For a first album, I really am impressed!
The reason explains by the quality of the writing, of course, but it always is difficult to say from which comes the inspiration!
Here, she coupled herself with various and varied influences of the protagonists and to their respective talent.
We have here a duet of singers, guitarists and really gifted claviéristes.
Adrian TONCEANU, baritone takes us in the tones of David GILMOUR, Jim MORRISON, David GAHAN.
as for Igor LAZE, ténor, I do more think about Eddie VEDDER and especially the excellent Ray WILSON of STILTSKIN.
The work of voices is exceptional and these two there merge often to the excellence!
The guitars want themselves acoustics or electric, sometimes even in an even title and always are harmonious and mélodiques.
Some rhythmic ones stretch sometimes towards the Hard-Rock, of others towards the Folk, of others "groove" a little more and all that works wonderfully!
The drummer of MORRE, Tylor KOCH wrote perfect scores to accompany our two Simon And Garfunkel of the modern times!
IT IS Sean GREGORY that played the low one for this first opus.
Go, for influences, here what I heard, Ray WILSON, Eddie VEDER, PEARL JAM, PINK FLOYD, CAT STEVENS, SANTANA (passage guitars and percussions on Under The Light), BLACKFIELD on Time Is Sleeping Away, THE BEATLES.
Sides guitars, note among others David GILMOUR, Slash, Jimmy PAGE, Jeff BECK, Keith RICHARDS, Ritchie BLACKMORE...
THE mood piano on Times Are Changing brings a key pop delicious atmospheric one.
there is the impression of the sound of the years 70', as a filiation to LED ZEPPELIN or again the ROLLING STONES even if the group practices not really that music!
although the eastern oriented mood on The Moment can bring back us on these earths.
Ben, our cultivated columnist certainly would have discovered us some references of pop, pop/rock of which it has a good better knowledge than me.
While awaiting, I must acknowledge to feel a true one "heart blow" for this music and is anxious to say you the whole happiness that I feel to the listens of this good too runs album!
Dare MORRE !!!
